Coffee Process Treatment System Approved by HI DOH Green Solution for Process Wastewater Treatment - During 2008 and part of 2009, Clear Water Solutions,LLC in partnership with Septic Preservation Services, pilot tested the White KnightŪ microbal treatment technology on the organically rich, low pH process wastewater from a large  grower/processer in the South Kona, HI area. The treatment process used the White Knight'sŪ selected strains of non-pathogenic naturally occurring bacteria over a four day treatment period.  The resulting wastewater met effluent limits enabling re-use for irrigation.   The totally organic process not only balanced the pH to near normal levels but also yielded an effluent which was high in potash, a major fertilizer component required by the coffee plants.  The discharge is clear and odorless; and with 24 hour settlement is suitable for drip irrigation systems.
