The Singulair® is an advanced technology extended aeration (aerobic) system which is designed for the individual home, group of homes, or small business. Treatment capacities range from 500 to 1500 gallons per day. Singulairs® can be arranged in a parallel configuration to achieve treatment capacities of 7,500 gallons.
The Singulair® utilizes extended aeration technology for the treatment of sanitary sewage. The three compartment concrete tank is approximately the physical size of a standard septic tank; 6 feet wide by 9 feet long with the depth varying from 6 feet to 8 feet depending on the required treatment capacity. The Singulair® replaces the septic tank.
The first chamber acts in a similar manner as a standard septic tank in which solids are allowed to settle. The middle chamber contains an aerator motor which when operating during its 30 minute per hour cycle, injects air into the wastewater providing the environment for bacteria reduction of the waste. The spinning motion of the aerator diffuser keeps waste matter in suspension. The treated wastewater passes into the third and final chamber where settlement, filtration and disinfection occur. The treatment system removes up to 98% of the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and suspended solids constituents of wastewater. The discharge is a clean, clear, odorless liquid. Optional chlorine tablet or gravity ultra violet light disinfection systems are available.
Standard treatment capacities in gallons per day are 500, 750, 1000, 1250, and 1500. Flow through the system is by gravity; there are no pumps. A temporary loss of electrical power will have no impact on overall system performance and flow through the system
Being constructed of concrete, durability and flotation are not issues and the system can be fabricated to meet H-20 loading requirements for placement under driveways and parking lots. The Singulair® comes with a 2 year general warranty and an extended warranty of 50 years for the aerator motor.
The Singulair® meets NSF standard 40 for class I technology requirements set by the Hawaii Department of Health.
